Carcross Church - Hand Embroidered Vintage Photo

They say, "Heaven hath no fury like a woman scorned" / And baby, Hell don't scare me, I've been times before.

This piece is inspired by the song “Family Tree,” by Ethel Cain.

The vintage photo is from an estate sale in Alabama. All the information I have about it is printed on the back. 

To make this piece, I wrote the words out on tracing paper, laid it over the photo, and poked a needle through both layers of paper so that I wouldn’t make any unnecessary holes while stitching. Once that was done, I threaded my needle and carefully stitched each word. I used the same embroidery thread, needle, and a crochet hook to create the scalloped frame.
