Carex oshimensis 'Everillo'

A bright and vibrant sport of 'Evergold', Carex oshimensis 'Everillo' is a clump-forming evergreen sedge grown for its striking, narrow, arching foliage, which emerges a fresh lime-green in spring and gradually deepens to a rich, golden-yellow through the season. Upright, pale-to-dark brown flower spikes appear in early summer, though it's the luminous, cascading foliage that gives this variety its year-round appeal, brightening up shady corners of the garden.

A compact, fountain-like grower, 'Everillo' typically reaches around 40–45cm in height and spread, making it well suited to ground cover, path edging, rock gardens, or as a graceful spiller in containers. It grows well in full sun or partial shade, though the best golden colour develops in a spot with morning sun or light shade, in moist, fertile, well-drained soil that shouldn't be allowed to dry out. Low maintenance, it needs no regular pruning beyond removing tired foliage in spring.
