Domette is a thin, soft wadding or batting used in garment-making where light padding is necessary. It is often used to soften areas in tailoring or corsetry.

Tailors utilise it to cushion areas like pad-stitched lapels or chest front canvases, where it is used in addition to horsehair canvas.

In corsetry it is often used as a padding or underlining to prevent boning from showing through, to create smooth, rounded seams.
