Siamese Cat - Hand Embroidered Post Card

I thrifted this postcard of Portrait of a Cat by John Bold, which is currently on display in the Manchester Art Gallery. I turned it into a mixed media piece with embroidery and crochet.

To make this piece, I drew my chart on graph paper, laid it over the postcard, and poked a needle through both layers of paper so that I wouldn’t make any unnecessary holes while stitching. Once that was done, I threaded my needle and carefully cross stitched each square of the graph. I used the same embroidery thread, needle, and a crochet hook to create the scalloped frame.
